I'm in a season of building new things—taking ideas seriously enough to make them real, and using the businesses around me to keep them honest.

Building

The closest to launch is Zero Carbon Coffee, a white-label coffee subscription platform for values-aligned brands and communities. It's the most mature of the new projects, and we're preparing to launch with multiple partners.

Alongside it, most of my software-building attention is on Proofs Now, SKU Now, and Versed. Each begins with a problem I can touch inside a business I help run: proof approvals at FASTSIGNS, shop operations that need a clearer system of record, and knowledge that should be easier for people and agents to use.

All three share a shape: software designed for people and agents from the beginning, grounded in real operations rather than an imagined workflow. Building them close to the work means the useful parts become obvious quickly, and so do the unnecessary ones.

There are other things in motion, but those are the ones closest to the center right now. The work page is the fuller map.

Alongside that, I'm still leading engineering at Webconnex and paying attention to what AI changes—and what it doesn't. The tools keep accelerating; judgment, care, and the work of building healthy teams still matter.

Operating

At FASTSIGNS, the focus is building steadier systems and a healthy, repeatable sales pipeline. The shop is also the proving ground for much of the software I'm building; real use has a way of clarifying what matters.

At Buenas Coffee and FLDWRK, the work is operational and local: strengthening revenue, making the spaces worth returning to, and caring for the communities that have formed around them.

Family & Health

Our kids are older now, which changes what presence asks of us but not how much it matters. Jill is very close to completing the supervised hours she needs to become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and I'm grateful for the care and persistence she has brought to that work.

About a week ago, I celebrated five years of remission. The surgery and chemotherapy that saved my life are far enough behind me to measure in years, but never so far that I take the time since for granted.

Thinking About

I keep returning to a few questions: What does software look like when agents are a first-class interface? How do people and tools share a trustworthy source of truth? How do you grow a business without letting urgency make every decision?

Location

Most days are in Costa Mesa, moving between home, the shop, the café, and the coworking space. I still prefer to spend my time here, as always.
